Everyone has a mole.
You know. That big, ugly, blaring thing. The thing we don’t want others to see. The thing we’ve been denying. Why is that?
We’re afraid. Afraid of disapproval. Afraid of vulnerability. Afraid of being “found out.”
But there’s no fooling anyone. While we use cover-up, most people can see through the camouflage.
My mole is making music, and this blog is my cover-up. I’m doing everything in my power to avoid an activity that I really enjoy by doing another activity that I slightly enjoy. All out of fear.
Sharing music involves connecting with people. People scare me because the possibility of rejection scares me.
What’s your mole? Can you dare to acknowledge its presence?
